Nutraceutical Mushroom Powder And Extract Production
Our powder and extraction facility utilizes different processing methods depending on the final product. For powders, we steam-activate, dehydrate, and mill the mushroom into a fine powder that can be easily used in your manufacturing or formulation processes. For extracts, we grind the mushrooms to increase the surface area, use different solvents to extract the desired compounds, and then filter the result for a pure extract.
For high vitamin D mushroom powder or other product blends that include high vitamin D mushrooms, we use a process developed by Monterey Mushrooms and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. After harvest, we expose White mushrooms to a specially devised proprietary ultraviolet light in a process that converts naturally existing compounds in the mushrooms to vitamin D. These mushrooms are then processed as described earlier.
